Evelyn Blevins

Evelyn Martin Blevins, 77, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. She was born in East Ridge to the late Frank Jackson Martin and Alice Hester Tuell Martin. She was a resident of Rossville, for the past 25 years and had previously resided in Chickamauga, Ga. She was a nurse and had worked for Tri-County Hospital, North Georgia Home Health and Hutcheson Hospice. She retired to enjoy spending time at home with her family. She was a member of Rossville Church of Christ for many years. She was a cancer survivor and enjoyed reading, camping, bowling, but the thing she loved the most was spending time with her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Blevins; their infant daughter, Alicia Carol Blevins; and her brother, Charles "Buddy" Martin. She is survived by her children, Mike Blevins, Sherry Welsh, both of Rossville, Billy and Karen Blevins, of Rock Spring, Ga.; grandchildren, Meleah and Gary Meadows, Sarah Welsh, Samuel Welsh, Blake and Kelly Blevins, Kassidy Blevins, Linda and Johnny Sharp, James Sharp; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Kincaid, Carolyn Wall; brother-in-law, Marty Wall; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Rossville Church of Christ. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. following the visitation.
