Janie Kenyon

Janie Allen-Kenyon Janie Allen Kenyon, 83, formerly of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, in Loveland, Colo., after a long illness. Mrs. Kenyon was the daughter of the late Everett Allen, senior vice president of this newspaper, and his wife, Olive Allen. She was the wife of John A. "Jack" Kenyon, of Loveland, who survives her. She is also survived by her brother, the Rev. John T. Allen, of Chattanooga, and by her six children, Elizabeth McDermott, Omaha, Neb.; John Kenyon Jr., Richmond, Va.; E. Allen Kenyon, Fort Collins, Colo.; Cameron Kenyon, Arvada, Colo.; Brian Kenyon, Berthoud, Colo.; Jane Kenyon, Indianapolis, Ind.; and 20 grandchildren. Mrs. Kenyon was a graduate and later a teacher at Girls Preparatory School of Chattanooga and of Wheaton College, Illinois. She and Mr. Kenyon served for 18 years with the Latin America Mission in Costa Rica. They later lived in Claremont, Calif., where Mr. Kenyon was an executive of World Vision before his retirement in 1998. Memorial service will be held in Fort Collins, Colo.
