Ella Earvin

Ella Vera Earvin, 78, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at her residence. She was faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church before her health began to fail. She retired from Gateway Hosiery Mill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Earvin Jr.; daughter, Doris J. Earvin; grandson, Kenrick Swoopes; sisters, Virginia Foster; a host of other brothers and sisters. Survivors include three sons, David W. (Pamela) Ervin; Anthony D. Ervin; Arthur J. Earvin III, all of Chattanooga; daughter, Bertha Earvin, Summerville, Ga.; two sisters, Emma Miller, Chattanooga and Ethel Hudgins, Elyria, Ohio; devoted daughter and caregiver, Janna D. Hubbard; devoted granddaughter, Stephanie Earvin; adopted daughter, caregiver and neighbor, Connie Thomas, all of Chattanooga; several brothers and sisters-in-law; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and special friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grant Harris officiating. Interment in Greenwood Memory Garden. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
