Jack Martin Jr.

Carl "Jack" V. Martin Jr., of Hixson, entered his heavenly home, on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014. He was 85 years old. He was a lifelong native of Chattanooga. Jack was a 1946 graduate of Red Bank High School. He was in the construction business for many years and he owned and operated his own car business before retiring out of the automobile industry. Jack was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #601 F&AM and the Alhambra Shrines. He was preceded in death by his wife, Celia Ellen Pickett Martin; son, Rick Allen Martin; mother, Katherine "Becky" Houts Martin; father, Carl V. Martin, Sr.; siblings, Marie and Margaret Martin. Jack is survived by his two children, Michael (Connie) Martin Sr. and Angel (Jim) Forester; grandchildren, Michael (Samantha) Martin Jr., Carrie Martin, Patrick and Carrie Forester, Jacy (Michael) Harris and Brent Barber; great-grandchildren, Jackson Martin and Landon Delong, Ashlyn Sansom, Logan Forester, Patrick Barber and MJ Harris; a special friend, JoAnn Martin and her children, Tony (Lisa) Davis and Heather (Chris) Petriccione, and their children, Zach Davis, Ashley (Dave) Sumrall, Zane Davis, Aaron Dantzler, MaKayla Silvers, Trace Martin Petriccione; sister, Dottie (Jay) Maddox; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Jack will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, at Calvary Baptist Church, 5201 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, with Rev. Dwight Martin officiating. The family will then have a reception in the Youth Building until 3 p.m. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Jacks name, Hearth Hospice, 1800 Rossville Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37408. The family would like to thank Lora and Missy with Hearth Hospice for the love and care given to Mr. Martin during his illness.
