Dorothy Stinnett

Dorothy A. Stinnett, 87, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Erlanger. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Rhea County, a 1945 graduate of Rhea County High School, a member of Garrison Baptist Church. She worked for more than 40 years for Rhea County Department of Education in the Central Office. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Cora Henderson Kerley; her husband, Arthur Stinnett; two brothers, Albert and Robert Kerley; two sisters, Lovie Wright, Rosa Roberts. Survivors: two sons, Gary (Betty) Stinnett, of Dayton, Wayne (Leslie) Stinnett, of Cleveland, Tenn.; one sister, Mayme Bedford, of Dayton; four grandchildren, Wendy (Travis) Brown, Cindy (Chris) Vincent, Nathan (Jennifer) Stinnett, Phillip Stinnett; seven great-grandchildren, Blake, Emily, Tyler Flatt, Cole McAfee, Leah Brown, Lyndsey Ledford, Olivia Ledford; several nieces and nephews. Service 1 p.m. Saturday at Garrison Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Breeden officiating. Body will lie in state one hour before the service. Burial in Rhea Memory Gardens.
