Helen Garvich

Helen Pennington Garvich, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Alexian Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pennington; brother, Gene Pennington and husband, Charles M. Garvich, Jr. She was a member of St. Timothys Episcopal Church. Survivors include her sons, Michael (Beegie) Garvich and Jon (Debbie) Garvich, both of Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Garvich, Tenley (Nicholas) Armstrong, Brady (Whitney) Garvich, Penn Garvich and his fianc, Marissa Coffers; great-grandchildren, Madeline Young, Kailey Ferguson, Chance Garvich, Hadley Garvich and Reilly Garvich. A private graveside service will be on Friday morning, Jan. 3, at National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Timothys Episcopal Church at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3. Visitation with the family begins at 11 a.m. and follows the service until 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Timothys Episcopal Church, 630 Mississippi Avenue, Signal Mountain, TN 37377. Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, Valley View Chapel.
