Jane Yelliott

Frances Jane Yelliott, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013. Jane lived a full life. She was born on Feb. 23, 1926 in Augusta, Ga. Jane and her husband Finch moved to Chattanooga in 1950. Jane was preceded in death by the love of her life, Finch Yelliott. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Edward) Batten; son, Grant (Shula) Yelliott; granddaughter, Ryan Yelliott (Brendan) Patterson; great-granddaughter, Emmaline Frances; her grandson, Grant (Tara) Yelliott II; and great-granddaughter, Adelyn Ryan. Janes life is a legacy and gift to everyone she touched; a gift she shared through her artistic spark, which many came to love and cherish. Jane brought to all of us a creative generosity, her positive and gentle nature, her contagious giggle with her twinkling blue eyes and the hope that we could all one day experience the world with the same compassion for those who surround us. We have been more than fortunate to share in her life. It has been her blessing to each of us. Her love was truly immeasurable, as it has been her finest work of art. A celebration of Janes life will be held today, Jan. 4, 2014, at St. Luke United Methodist Church (Chattanooga); the family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. and the service will follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be considered for the ministry of St. Luke United Methodist Church, 3210 Social Circle, Chattanooga, TN 37415.
