June Angel

Ariz. June Henderson Angel, 77, formerly of Chickamauga, Ga., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013. She was born in Trion, Ga., to the late John Gordon and Dessie Mae Brock Henderson. She was a long time resident of Chicago Ill., where she was a waitress for seventeen years and an entrepreneur for thirty-nine years where she owned J.J. Gumby's Lounge. June was a long time member of Calvary Community Church in Phoenix, Ariz. She enjoyed reading, watching movies and traveling on cruises. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Jin; siblings Alfred Henderson, Barbara Prince, Polly Vaughn, Martha Nation and Franklin Henderson. She is survived by her loving children, Robert Arnold, of Madison, Indiana, Glenda 'Pandy' (William) Rabe, of Park Ridge, Ill., and Steven Jin, of Carpentersville, Ill.; sister, Betty Jenkins, of Phoenix, Ariz., Charlotte Arnold, of LaFayette, Ga.; brother, John Gordon Henderson, of Chickamauga, Ga.; she was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends today from 3-8 p.m. and Monday morning prior to the service. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, Jan. 6, at 1 p.m. with Reverends Charles McElhaney and Billy Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Chickamauga Cemetery.
