Bill Black

Grover Nelson "Bill" Black, Jr., 83, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 in a local health care facility. Bill was born on Feb. 8, 1930 in Chattanooga to the late Grover Nelson Black, Sr., and Sarah Moorman Black. He had resided in the Dry Valley Community of Rossville for seventy years and was a member of Delray Baptist Church. He was a retired cabinet maker having worked for Quinco Kitchens and Architectural Millworks. He served his county in the U.S. Navy and was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Bessie Elaine Black, and two infant daughters. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Billy Black, of Rossville; brother, Rhea Black; sister, Peggy Lindsey, both of Cleveland, Tenn.; niece, Susan Black, Chattanooga; special friend, Billie Riddle, of Chickamauga; Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 3 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Chris Eaves officiating.
