Judy Ritchie

Judy Carol Ritchie, 60, a resident Ooltewah, passed away on Monday morning, Jan. 6, 2014, in a Chattanooga hospital. Judy was born in Philadelphia, Tenn., on April 18, 1953 a daughter of the late Sanford and Sarah Ingram. Since approximately 1995 she had called the McDonald and Ooltewah areas home. She was of the Methodist faith. Judy worded and retired from the Hardwick Clothes Co. Judy had several hobbies and interest such as flowers, sewing, etc, but could be best described as a person who "Loved her family". In addition to her parents., Judy was preceded in death by her first husband; and father of her children, Curtis Luther Strickland; and three sisters, Brenda Sue Stephens, Mary Elizabeth Goforth and Betty Jean Hackler. Judy leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of six years, Ken Ritchie; one daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Tony DeLay, of McDonald; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Strickland and Emily, also of McDonald; one stepson, Kenn Ritchie, of McDonald; five grandchildren, Kaity Strickland, Broady Baliles, Page Baliles, Abby DeLay and Tony DeLay Jr. She is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends. A celebration of her life is planned at 2 p.m. for Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Corinth Baptist Church located at 216 Corinth Church Road in McDonald, Tenn., with the Rev. Glenn Mosley and the Rev. Mark Barber officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Paint Rock, Tenn. The family will receive friends at the Corinth Baptist Church from 5-8 p.m. today, Jan. 8, prior to the service on Thursday.
