James Hion

James Hixon GREENSBORO, N.C. James Ralph Hixon, 89, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. Ralph Hixon was born in Valley Head, Ala. He was retired from Sears and Roebuck as the Southeast Regional Credit Manager. Mr. Hixon was a Navy WWII veteran who fought in the Pacific Theater. He received the Victory medal, Asiatic-Pacific medal, American Theater medal. He was an active member of Republican Party and Special Assistant to Congressman Howard Coble. Mr. Hixon was a member of First Baptist Church of Greensboro, where he was an active member. Mr. Hixon enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. Mr. Hixon was active with the Greensboro Elks Lodge #706. Ralph Hixon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lucille Hixon of the home; his two sons, Carlton Hixon and wife, Kathy, of Charlotte, N.C., and Cecil Hixon, of Greensboro; granddaughter, Jamey ODowd, of Greensboro; one brother, M.H. Hixon, of Chattanooga. Visitation will be noon -1:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. at Forbis & Dick North Elm St, 1118 North Elm St. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels United Services for Older Adults at P.O. Box 21993, Greensboro, NC 27420.
