Franklin Coots

Franklin Gary Coots, 59, of Chattanooga went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Christian faith. He was the owner and editor of Chattanooga Bikers Magazine and avid Motorcycle Rider and loved being in the Wind with friends along with loving his life as a member and chaplain of the Double Knuckles MC Club of Chattanooga. He was a Veteran with the Navy Seabees Reserve and a hunter and fisherman, who loved the outdoors and enjoyed special hunting and fishing trips with his Dad and Brother. He was a master carpenter and was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny Joe and Edith Coots. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hastings Coots, of Chattanooga; daughter, Christine Greene, of Ringgold, Ga.; brother, William (Vickie) Coots of Ringgold; sister, Valerie Devane, of Jacksonville, Fla.; granddaughter, Olivia; caregiver and special friend, Gypsy and his extended family members of the Double Knuckles Motorcycle Club. Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at the Outlaws Motorcycle Club House.
