Berneice Everett

Thelma Berneice Wade Everett, 89, of Hixson, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, in a local hospital. She was born July 15, 1924 in Rhea County, Tenn., to the late George Washington and Cordia Neal Wade. She was retired from Railway Express Agency after 26 years of service. Mrs. Everett was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and the Bethany Sunday School Class. Her husband, Billy A. Everett and four siblings preceded her in death. Survivors include her children, David (Judy) Everett, of Soddy-Daisy, Brenda (Don) Underwood, of Hixson, Deborah E. (Gary) Barker, of Memphis, John (Janet) Everett, of DeWitt, Michigan; sisters, Mary Vincent, of Hixson, Elsie Brinson, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; brother, Don (Dee) Wade, of Killen, Tenn.; grandchildren, David (Sandi) Everett, Jason (Gena) Everett, Heather (Jonathan) Martin, Mark (Jennifer) Everett, Brad (Sandy) Everett, Matthew (Amanda) Everett and John (Paola) Underwood; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the North Chapel with the Rev. Brady Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park with the grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today and from noon-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
