Charles Blevins

Charles Wesley Blevins, 68, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Rising Fawn and attended St. Gerards Catholic Church. Charles served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Walker County School Systems after 18 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley T. and Mattie Elvira Williams Blevins; sisters, Reba Richcreek, Imojean Bradford, Zoya Wylene Watson and Vela Blevins; and brothers, Thomas Blevins and Raymond Blevins. Charles is survived by his wife, of 27 years, Faye Blevins; daughters, Catherine Sykes, of Ooltewah and Melissa (Teddy) Owensby, of Soddy-Daisy; siblings, Sonja Shetler, Joan Shetler and L.J. Blevins; grandchildren, Devin, Meghan and John; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
