Maynard Whittemore

Maynard V. Whittemore, a sweet and gentle soul departed this world Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 and was joyfully united with his Creator and Savior. He was born Nov. 7, 1957 and had lived in Ringgold his entire life. He was a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Lillian Rhodes Whittemore; and brother, T. Chet Whittemore. Maynard was a loving husband to his wife, Wanda Brown Whittemore; father to daughters, Brianna Whittemore and Heather (Nathan Hawkins) Whittemore; and grandfather to Ethan, Caleb, Dahkota and Isabella. He is also survived by brothers, David (Felecia) Whittemore, and Mitchell Whittemore, both from Ringgold; sisters, Mary Whittemore, Ringgold, Carol (Earl) Wilson, East Ridge and June (Jim) Justice of Apison, Tenn. Maynard was a quiet and unassuming man, but his passing is going to leave a great void in our lives and he will be surely and desperately missed. Maynard asked to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
