Jack Liles

Jack Liles, 81, a resident of Ooltewah, passed away on Friday morning, Jan. 24, 2014, at the home of his daughter in Apison, Tenn. Jack was born in Axon, Ga., on Jan. 29, 1932 a son of the late Lacy and Leona Liles. Jack and his wife had relocated to the Ooltewah area from Daytona Beach, Fla., approximately three years ago. Jack was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. He was an honorable discharged veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. During his work career he managed a welding supply company and also a lumber supply company. Jack was an avid dirt track racing fan and was a talented auto mechanic with a gift for working on race cars especially. He also loved to garden and could grow just about anything. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Buchanan; and two brothers, Bill Liles and Norman Liles. Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of over 59 years, Pauline Kelley Liles; three daughters, Jackie Sperrazza, Anita Osteen (Gary) and Bonita McLarnan (J.C.); two sisters, Bonnie Savino (Johnny) and Joanne Moon. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends. A memorial service is planned at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Garden Plaza at Green Briar Cove located at 4586 Forsythia Way in Ooltewah, TN 37363, with the Rev. Harley Bresee, the Rev. Mark Bresee and the Rev. Dave Kettleson officiating. Military honors will be observed at the beginning of the service.
