Paul Reneau

Paul Reneau, 85, of Ooltewah, died Monday, June 30, 2014. Born Nov. 10, 1928, to Jessie Roy and Parthenia Hill Reneau, he served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He returned home in 1951 and married Mary Clemmer. He retired from the Mueller Co. after 30 years of service. Following his retirement, Paul enjoyed a second career restoring and selling tractors. Paul was a lifelong Baptist and served several churches as choir director. He also sang baritone in many trios and quartets. Paul and Mary made numerous mission trips to Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruth Swafford; brother, James; and granddaughter, Melody. Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Mary; sons, Mark Reneau (Thomas Alford) and Tim (Patti) Reneau; grandchildren, Charles, Portland, Ore., Douglas, New Orleans, La.; Michael Scott (Julie) Greeneville, Tenn.; and Ashley, Ooltewah; great-grandchildren, Jesse and Miles, Greeneville; his siblings, John (Betty), Mary Harris and Naomi Sims Ooltewah; David, Spring City, and Martha (James) Durichek, Collegedale; numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. today, July 4, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Father John Anderson officiating.
