Doris Autry

Doris "Tina" Marie Cochran Autry, 70, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away Friday, July 4, 2014. She was born on Aug. 25, 1943, to the late Willis and Pirl Cochran in LaFayette. She was a member of New Manna Baptist Church, a cafeteria manager at Pond Springs Elementary for 26 years, president of the Resident Counsel at Parkside Nursing Home. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, NASCAR, Elvis and the Atlanta Braves, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great -grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Barnette Autry; sisters, Sue Ware, Grace Nave, Mary Ware and Effie McCormick; brothers, Walter "Hobo" Cochran, Charles Cochran and Wallace "Watt" Cochran. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Steve Ramsey of Rossville, Dee Dee and David Espy of Lookout Mountain; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Kerry Autry of Chickamauga, Tad and Melanie Autry of Flintstone; two sisters, Joyce "Jitter" Russell and Myrtle Butler, both of Chickamauga; brother, John Cochran, of Columbus; six grandchildren, Annaliese Cope, Meg Forrester, Travis Autry, Hillary Autry, Molly Kapur and Nate Espy, six great-grandchildren, Catherine Cope, Ellie Jane Cope, Blake Forrester, Reece Forrester, Hunter Autry and Fischer Autry. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. today, July 6; 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday, and prior to the funeral service Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jay Walthour officiating.
