Joseph Dugan

Joseph Francis Dugan, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 10, 2014. He was born in Elizabeth, N.J., where he had lived for more than 50 years before moving to the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was a member of Covenant Life Worship Center in Chickamauga. He was previously employed as a truck driver for many years and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Dugan, and grandson, Kelsey Ross Ford. Survivors include his loving wife of more than 66 years, Miriam Dugan, of Ringgold; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (Arthur) DeBruycker, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Rita (Hector) Carrion, of Ringgold, Ga., Miriam (Anthony) Amato, of New Jersey and Diane (Bill) Welch, of East Ridge; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel, Pastor Pete Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
