Nancy MacNaughton

Nancy Jean Sliger MacNaughton was born May 27, 1956, in Chattanooga, to John Woodrow Sliger and Kathryn Virginia Carlton Sliger. She entered into Gods larger Kingdom on Thursday, July 10, 2014, after a lengthy illness. Nancy was the youngest child of a loving family and the light of all their lives. She had a very gentle touch that always brought joy to all who knew her. She married Craig Scott MacNaughton on Dec. 26, 1987 and gave birth to their son, John, Oct. 22, 1990. Nancy was not only a beautiful woman both inside and out but, a wonderful wife and mother, creating a loving and welcoming home. She was a gourmet cook, a talented interior designer and an excellent vocalist who also loved to dance. She was a person of strong faith that practiced charity, grace and Gods love each day of her life. Nancy was also very involved in the life of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Manakin Sabot, Va., where she chaired the Welcoming Committee and sang in the Praise Band. Surviving are husband, Craig Scott MacNaughton; son, John Ross MacNaughton; and stepdaughter, Jennifer Lynn MacNaughton; siblings, John Woodrow Sliger, Judy Sliger McClaran, Susan Virginia Sliger and Bettye Sliger McCartney. All of us who loved Nancy for the beautiful, kind, gentle and graceful person she was, will miss her greatly. She was taken too soon but is now with our Lord in Heaven. A Memorial service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Manakin Sabot at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Nancy's honor can be sent to St. Francis Episcopal Church or the American Cancer Society.
