Aurelia Myers

Aurelia Myers, 96, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014, at her home in Chattanooga, from natural causes. She was born in 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio, where she resided for 40 years. She was a womens designer dress buyer for Halle Bros. Department Store. She and her husband, Bill moved with their daughter, Patricia to Fort Myers Beach, Fla., in 1954 and bought the Surf Club Bar, one of only two on the entire beach. They owned and operated this landmark for four years. She later used her love of fashion to start her own Nu Mode Dress Shops which she owned and operated for over 20 years in Fort Myers. Aurelia loved her family, friends, dancing, and decorating her many homes. She retired in 1986. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William P. Myers; sister, Elizabeth (Marvin) Draeger; brother, Louis (Alice) Boldan Jr.; and nephews, Roger (Emily) Viland and Gary Boldan. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Gerald) Smart; grandchildren, William Smart and Robert (Vicki) Smart; great-grandchildren, Emily Smart and Tanner Smart; nephews, Fred (Gerry) Draeger; and Michael Boldan; and niece, Deborah (John) Blair. There will be no services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Health Care of East Tennessee Inc., and Hospice @ www.hhcoet.com.
