G. B. Warren

Warren, 94, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Warren was born in Dalton, Ga., on March 9, 1920, to the late R. J. Warren and the late Lucille DeHart Warren. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Headrick Warren, and his second wife, Audrey Dodd Warren. Mr. Warren served in France during World War II, and returned to his home in Dalton in 1946. He worked as an auto mechanic until 1948, when he moved to Daisy, Tenn., where he obtained work as a glazier with Independent Paint and Glass Company, Chattanooga, until he retired in 1983. He was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Local 226. He was a member of the United Methodist church in Daisy. In 2010, G. B. moved to Barnesvile, and lived with his daughter, Sheila, until his death. Survivors include his children, Sheila Warren-Smith of Barnesville, Nathan Warren of Spencer, Tenn., Pamela Tingen of Barnesville, and Michael Warren of Hernando, Miss.; 12 grandchildren, and 29 great -grandchildren; brother, Stewart Warren of Rossville. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 2521 Lake Francis Road, Whitfield County, Ga. Brother John Ford will officiate.
