Jean Thomas-Parrott

Jean Thomas-Parrott, of Signal Mountain, died on Thursday, June 5, 2014. She was the widow of Robert W. Thomas for 46 years and loving companion of Eugene H. Parrott for the past 12 years. Survived by her four children, Karen Gelnett, Natalie Crandley, Charlotte Mathias and Craig Thomas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Jean was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1929 and retired to Cape Cod, Mass., in 1980 where she enjoyed her retirement. She was a wonderful mother, friend, cook and secretary. She enjoyed her crafts, sewing, travel and entertaining. She was a member of Brewster Baptist Church and also attended Signal Mountain Methodist Church where she participated in the JOY Club. She spent her final months at the Lifecare Community of Alexian Brothers Village in Signal Mountain, surrounded by the loving staff at their facility. No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Habitat for Humanity. Arrangements by Hamilton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson, 423-531-3975.
