Luther York Jr.

Luther H. "Lucky" York Jr., 58, passed on Friday, June 6, 2014, in Cleveland, Tenn. He was born April 6, 1956 in Homestead, Fla., to Luther H. York Sr. and Ruth Patterson. Luther served 12 years in the United States Navy before finally retiring from active service in 1992. After retiring, Luther spent many years in management at Radio Shack. In 1975 he married Rosa Barro and together raised their daughter Rosalia and sons Richard, Lawrence and Roman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. He will be truly missed. Luther is survived by his wife Rosa York; four children and their spouses Charles and Rosalia Presley, Richard and Holly York, Lawrence and Kelley York and Roman and Melissa York; two siblings, Bill (Ann) York and Larry (Linda) York; and parents Rick and Ruth Fletcher; and grandchildren, Taylor, Sierra, Olivia, Maddie, Kendall, Isaiah, Avery, Elijah, Lyla and Ryleigh. Preceded in death by father Luther H. York Sr. and sibling Tressie Story. A viewing will be held at Advantage Funeral Home at 1724 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404, today, June 9, from 3-7 p.m. The memorial service will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 1 p.m. with a committal service to follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, located at 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
