Michael Kolbas Sr.

Michael John Kolbas Sr., 79, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014. He was born to the late Michael Charles and Helen F. Kolbas in Pittsburgh, Pa., on June 7, 1935. He was a retired Major in the United States Air Force and he was an avid tennis player and instructor who also enjoyed cars and fishing and loved animals. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen Marie DeCesare. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Jr. and Margaret Kolbas, of Ringgold, Jonathan Kolbas, of Lowell, Mass.; daughter and son-in-law, Kathi and Matt McAuliffe of Salem, Mass.; former wife, Marilyn Kolbas, of Signal Mountain; four grandchildren, Addison, Brett, Christopher and Ellen Kolbas. A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Homes, LaFayette Chapel, 706-638-1122.
