Inez Burney

Inez Nicole Dixie Burney, 21, of Chattanooga, passed Saturday, June 7, 2014, in a local hospital. She graduated from Tower High School in 2011, in Decatur, Ga. Inez was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. Survivors include her adopted mother, Lucy Ann Burney; birth mother, Carolyn M. Dixie; father, Jack Melvin; grandmother, Anna Hawkins; brothers, Eric and Dominique Burney; sisters, Latasha Jackson, Jacqueline Burney, Michelle Watkins (Reginald Brown), LeKesha Garner and Portia Burney; aunts, Mary Joyce (Lawrence) Battle of Seabrook, Md., Robbie Toney, Terri Young. Darlene (Dennis) Appleberry, Hazel (Theodore) Garner, of Towncreek, Ala., Francis Watkins (Steve Ramsey) and Deborah Faye (Jeffery) Miller, of Hillsboro, Ala.; uncles, Robert Dixie Jr., Willie James Watkins, of Courtland, Ala., E. Grant Watkins and Theodore Watkins; several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 14, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kevin Adams officiating. Interment in Tyner Community Cemetery.
