Charlotte Cosby

Charlotte Delores Williams Callahan Cosby passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014. She was born to the union of Leroy Williams Sr. and Bernice Henderson Williams. She was the third of seven children born to this union. She was predeceased by her parents; grandparents; sister, Delaney Williams Harris; and brother, Leroy Williams Jr. Charlotte loved Jesus Christ and was a saved member of Thankful Baptist Church. She was a previous member of the Harems of Jericho, and the Ladies of the Circle of Perfection, Chattanooga court. She was an active member of The Lookout Chaper #144 Order of The Eastern Star and Daughters of Isis. After 23 years of service she recently retired from Hamilton County Parks and Recreation at River Park, where she was a supervisor and well loved by her River Park and Chester Frost Park family. Charlotte leaves to cherish her memories her step-daughter, Elaine Cosby, Nashville; two stepsons, Jermaine and Lawrence Cosby Jr., Chattanooga); three sisters, Yvonne (Warren) Lemon, Deborah (Williams) Moore and Della (Williams) Darby; brother, Alfred Williams Sr., Chattanooga) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Thankful Baptist Church, 980 N. Orchard Knob Ave. with Elder Oscar Lockhart officiating. Interment: Lakewwood Memory Gardens, East. The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. this evening at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
