Betsy Scott

Nancy E. "Betsy" Varner Scott, 63, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Betsy grew up in the Methodist Church and she was a member of the Order of St. Luke the Physician and the Hephzibah Ministries. She was also active with Pet Therapy Dog Program. Currently she was employed with Unum. She wass preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Wilma Varner; her brother, Richard "Dickie" Varner; and her father-in-law, Carl B. Scott. Betsy is survived by her husband, David Scott; her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and John Buck; her mother-in-law, Mary R. Scott; her stepson, Dwight Scott; two nieces, Kayse Martin and Audra Coleman; her nephew, Chris Varner; four great-nieces, Rachel, Emma Kate and Sara Martin and Anna Varner; two great-nephews, William Coleman and Henry Varner; sister-in-law, Rosemary Varner and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmie and Kaye Holt. The memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, with Dr. Bob Sanders officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, June 28, at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be, Matt Martin, Andrew Coleman, John Buck, Jimmie Holt, Bob Marsh, Leon Ray, Chris Varner and Doug Roberson.
