Vera Linz

Vera Hestermann Linz, 94, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at her Hixson home. She was a faithful wife and a hard-working, gracious mother and grandmother. She participated in the body of New Salem Baptist, Soddy-Daisy. She never met a stranger, always wore a smile and enjoyed traveling, bowling, gardening and time with family. Vera had a cheerful, humorous, compassionate and friendly personality. She was beloved and survived by her three children, Judith Linz, Michael Linz, and Patrick (Wanda) Linz; five grandchildren, Brian (Sally) and Candice Stacy, Joshua Linz, Lacie (Christopher) Roddy, and Tanner Linz; one great-grandchild, Jessica Stacy. Preceded by her husband of 64 years, Charles "Bud" Linz, and granddaughter, Jennifer Stacy. Services 3:30 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Allen Rogers and Pastor Ted Painter officiating. Entombment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be given to New Salem Baptist Media Fund. Arrangements under the direction of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tenn.
