Marian Officer

Marian Tulloss Officer, a retired educator from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, departed this life Saturday, March 1, 2014, after a lengthy illness in Chattanooga. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "W.J."Officer. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Karen (Calvin) Officer-Bell; grandson, Winston Arthur Bell; sisters, Betty Jo Cody, Cecelia (Earl) Brown, Gladys (Charles) Davis, Serlena (James) Wilson-Brown, Clemontine "Ruth" Tulloss, and Moya Martin; devoted niece, Marilyn "Peggy" Tulloss; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and close friends. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. (EST) Saturday, March 8, 2014 at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga. The funeral service will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Bernie Miller officiating. The Service of Committal and interment is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CST) on Saturday at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, officiated by Rev. Dr. Kelly Miller Smith Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation, www.alzfdn.org/ContributetoAFA/makeadonation.html. Arrangements by John P.
