Mary Ann Shafer

Mary Shafer Mary Ann Shafer, 84, of Greeneville, Tenn., entered her final rest Tuesday, March 11, 2014, after battling dementia for years and is now finally free. She was a long-standing member of Maryville, Tenn., Seventh-day Adventist Church and she lived each moment looking for Jesus return. Jennifer (William) Busse care for her during some of her last days in Red Bank. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Shafer; parents, Lila Digman-Milam and William Roy Milam; sister, June Armando; brother, William Roy (Bonnie) Milam; and a great-grandson. Survivors include her children, Cheryl (Scott) Bowman, Deborah (Mike) Officer and David (Cheryl) Shafer; brothers, Benjamin (Bonny) Milam and John (Francis) Milam; sister, Norma Nuremberger; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimers Association in memory of Mary Ann Shafer.
