Mildred Shannon

Mildred W. Shannon, 73, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Chattanooga. She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Shannon. Survivors include her husband, Henry C. Shannon; daughters, LaJune S. Ray, of Fayetteville, N.C. and Georgette Shannon, of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Marcus Ray and Miles Ray, of Fayetteville, N.C.; Chloe Shannon-Byrd, Connor Shannon-Byrd and Cassie Byrd; sister-in-law, Juanita Woods, of Chattanooga; a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Phillips Temple CME Church with Reverend Bethel Hendricks officiating. Interment in National Cemetery. Public viewing will begin at 5 p.m. today at funeral home. The Ivy Beyond the Wall ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:30 7:30 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
