Joyce Parrish

Joyce Lee Parrish, 81, departed this life Sunday, March 16, 2014. She was born in Walker County, Ga., to the late Tommy and Myrtle Parrish and was a member of Fullers Chapel United Methodist Church in Cohutta, Ga. Joyce worked from Mills-Lupton Pluming Supplies after many years and later retired from Shaw Industries. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Parrish Sr.; and nephew, Jimmy Dyer. Survivors include her siblings, Dr. Charles (Margaret) Parrish, of Alpharetta, Ga., Tom Jr. (Judy) Parrish, of Chattanooga, Betty Dyer Thrower, of Chickamauga; sister-in-law, Carol Parrish, of Chickamauga; longtime friends, Bobbie Fetzer, Betty McClung; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in the chapel with Dr. James Sprayberry officiating. Interment will follow in Garretts Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4 until 9 p.m. today and prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association and/or St. Judes Childrens Research. Arrangements are by J. Avery Bryan Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes, Chickamauga, Ga.
