Lois Rauen

Lois Ann Rauen, 79, of Ooltewah, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014. A native of Kankakee, Ill., she has been a resident of Ooltewah for the past 31 years and was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church. Before moving to the Chattanooga area, she was a member of the St. Patrick Parish in Kankakee for 51 years. She was a loving wife and aunt to her family and friends and all who knew her and was the daughter of the late Ralph B. and Veronica Farmer. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Janice M. Shear; brother, Jack Farmer; niece, Barbara Dunn and two nephews, Mark and David Shear. Lois was retired from the Roper Corporation of Kankakee, Ill., and was a member of several organizations in the Chattanooga area such as, The Chattanooga Womens Club, Chattanooga Boating Club and the Chattanooga New Comers. Survivors include her husband, of 57 years, David Rauen; brother, Ralph B. Farmer Jr., Bowling Green, Ky.; special niece, Nancy (Nick) Goeckner and their children; great-niece Jill (Nathan) Schrage; great-niece and nephew, Seth and Keli Goeckner; great-great-nieces and nephew, Abby, Emma, Jacob and Catey Schrage; several other nieces and nephews, the Rauen family, cousins and many local friends. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Diaz officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at heart.org or to ones favorite charity.
