Frank Scoggins

James Franklin "Frank" Scoggins, 76, went home to be with the Lord Sunday March 16, 2014. He was a native and lifelong resident of Catoosa County a son of the late John D. and Mattie Lee Cullens Scoggins. Mr. Scoggins was retired from Candlewick Yarns after 23 years of service and had worked with Combustion and Olin Conductors. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Ware. Frank was saved at the age of 21 at the Dry Valley Baptist during a revival meeting He joined Boynton Baptist Church in 1969 where he started ushering in 1970 until present time serving over 43 years. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1985 and was honored this past January as Deacon Emeritus on Frank Scoggins Day at Boynton Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Jean Scoggins; sons, Timothy Scoggins and David Scoggins; brother Donald Scoggins, all of Ringgold; sister, Lois Cornelison, Barbara Ensley, Marie Massengill, Johnnie Bramlett, all of Ringgold; Reba Payne Calhoun, Ga and Linda Forester, of East Ridge; grandchildren, Brian, Hollie and Nick Scoggins; great-granddaughter, Julia Caitlin Scoggins. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. and Mrs. Keith McLeod and Rev. Jimmy Hutto officiating. Interment in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
