Ruth Pipkin

Mrs. Ruth Orene Chapman Pipkin, 100, passed away at her home in Rome Saturday, March 22, 2014. She was a native of LaFayette, and had lived in Rome for the past 67 years. She was a member of the Garden Lake Baptist Church. She was retired from the Celanese Corporation. After her retirement, she enjoyed many years of extensive traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis David Pipkin; parents, William Knox and Corinthia Earle White Chapman; sisters, Lois Scoggins, Ruby Boss, Lucille Stewart, Jewell Boss, Inez Coffey; brothers, Jake Chapman, Burl Chapman, and Glyn Chapman; several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Wallis Memoral Chapel Tuesday at 2 p. m. Service conceded by Dr. Richard Kremer and the Rev. Charles McElhaney. Pallbearers are great-nephews Gary Chapman, Greg Chapman, Chris Chapman, Mark Chapman, Ben Chapman and Jesse Potts. Interment in LaFayette Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Garden Lake Baptist Church, 2200 Redmond Circle, Rome, GA 30165. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice of Cartersville, Jamie Oakes, and Georgia King, for all their help and thoughtfulness during her illness. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Tuesday from 11 a.m. to funeral time. The arrangement are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home of LaFayette, Ga.
