Mildred Powell

Mildred E. Powell, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, in local hospital. She was a beautiful lady, full of life and love for her husband, Noel R. Powell. She was often seen rolling around the hallways of NHC Healthcare with her Bible open looking for her beloved, Noel. She was retired from a local hosiery mill and was of the Church of the Nazarene faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Nellie Herod; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Noel R. Powell; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday April 1, 2014, in Chattanooga National Cemetery. No services will be held at the funeral home. Arrangements by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
