Freddie Lee "Jr" Grimes, 87, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Avolene Grimes; brother, Richard Grimes; sisters, Kathy Smitch, Maydell Saynes. Mr. Grimes was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Those left to cherish his memories are six children, Ronald (Iva) Grimes, of Griffith Creek, Richard Grimes, Steve (Hazel) Grimes, of Soddy-Daisy, Randall (Linda) Grimes, of Jasper, Patricia (Terry) Weldon, of Ider, Ala., Bonnie (John) Osborn, of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; sister, Bonnie (Harold) Taylor, of Tyler, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Gary Grimes, Stephanie Woody, Christy Grimes, Elisabeth Jordan, Melissa Walczak, Adam Grimes, Freddie "Cookie" Weldon, Harmon Grimes, Trisha Weldon, Beth Ann Osborn; several great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today, May 6. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Kilgore officiating.
