Raymond Henderson

Raymond "Ray" Henderson passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the age of 86. He was born in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Col. Raymond Henderson Sr., MD and the late Ida Ryckman Henderson. He is survived by a sister, Ellen Joseph, of Woodbine, Md.; and brother, Donald Henderson, of Gastonia, N.C.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ray was an Army soldier who served his country in Korea and Germany and worked and retired from the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta after 30 years of service. Ray loved fishing, hunting, farming as well as caring for horses and hunting dogs. He also attended Vanderbilt University, the alma mater of his father and sister. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave., Chattanooga.
