Eddie Fincher

Carl "Eddie" Edgar Fincher, 66, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014. A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served during the Vietnam War, was a former employee of Norfolk Southern Railway where he worked for 36 years and was a member of Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mamie Sue Duckett Fincher. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy White Fincher, of Ringgold; five children, Becky Kile, Gwen (Jim) Wilson, Anitra (Jerry) DeBerry, Tabitha (Nathan) Farrow and Josh (Cindy) Fincher, all of Ringgold; sister, Willie Sue Brown, of Ringgold; five brothers, Freddie (Linda) Fincher, of Ringgold, Gene (Sheila) Fincher, of Florida, J.C. (Birdie) Fincher, of Ringgold, Jerry (Pam) Fincher, of Varnell, Ga., and Jimmy (Nancy) Fincher, of LaFayette, Ga.; 12 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle with the Rev. Jerry Atkins, Rev. Jeremy Fincher and Dr. Laurie-Anne Swaby speaking. Interment will follow at New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today and until 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
