Coty Allen

Coty C. Allen, 19, Our hero, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, as a result of a lifelong battle with Dents Disease (a rare kidney disease). He was born March 23, 1995, in Augusta, Ga., the son of Brent J. Allen and Kari Calkins Allen. Coty was passionate about Hip Hop dance and music. Despite his condition, he had competed in and won several dance competitions. For a short time, Coty attended East Ridge High School. Coty loved being with family and friends, and when able, he never missed an opportunity to be with them. In return, Coty was loved and was an inspiration to all who knew him. Coty is survived by his parents Brent Allen, of Evans, Ga., and Kari Calkins Allen of Fort Oglethorpe; and his brother Cooper Allen. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Gary and Lea Calkins, of Ooltewah; and his paternal grandmother, Joyce Allen, of Grovetown, Ga. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service was held on Thursday May 29, 2014, in Evans, Ga. A Celebration of Coty's life will be held in South Pittsburg, Tenn. at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Childrens Hospital at Erlanger. Donations can be mailed to Children's Hospital at Erlanger, 910 Blackford St., Chattanooga, TN 37403 (payable to Children's Hospital Foundation) or Shriners Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502 (payable to Shriners).
