Alton Moore

LaFAYETTE Henry Alton "Bud" Moore, 86, passed away Sunday April 26, 2015. A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, he was a self-employed painter and carpenter for over 40 years and was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maura Ruth Waters Moore; son, Ronny Moore; parents, Henry and Maclena Williams Moore; brother, Larry Moore; and two sisters, Montyne Moore and Willie Bell Cline. He is survived by three children, Danny (Linda) Moore, of Athens, Tenn., Donny Moore, of Chickamauga, Ga., and Becky (James) Moore, of Rock Spring, Ga.; two sisters, Wanda Davis, of LaFayette, and Frances "Blackie" Smith, of Knoxville; brother, Eddie Moore, of LaFayette; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday April 29, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Charles Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Arnold Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 4-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home. An online register book may be signed at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
