Betty Jo Oakes

Betty Jo Oakes Mrs. Betty Jo Oakes, of Chattanooga, passed away July 29, 2015 in High Point, N.C. Betty Jo was a native and lifelong resident of Chattanooga, born on May 3, 1932 to parents Walter and Mattie(Lingerfelt) Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence William Oakes Jr.; brothers, William Jones, Williard Jones, and Walter Jones Jr. "Buddy"; sisters, Thelma McKee, Ruth Slaughter, Naomi Jones Oakes and Bernice Jones "Bunny". She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews who survive her. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. today at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace.
