Bethany McCurley

Bethany Ann McCurley, of Ooltewah, was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015. Born on July 29, 1952, in Gladwin, Mich., to the late Milton and Lillian Tolly, Bethany married Paul McCurley on Dec. 20, 1974, in Hope, Mich. Beths loves were her Savior, her family, and music. Her genuine empathy and optimistic attitude regardless of circumstances endeared her to all she encountered. She enjoyed being the organist at Franklin Road Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tenn., for over fifteen years, following a musical legacy from her parents. There are no words to describe how much she treasured her time as a grandmother. Her favorite thing to do was rock her grandson to sleep, and she was eagerly awaiting the arrival of a granddaughter this fall. Beth is survived by her husband, Paul; son, Kyle (Jennie) McCurley, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and daughter, Mandy (John) Quarles, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; brother, John (Kathy) Tolly; sisters, Janet (Ted) Herner, Dawn (Tye) Rausch, Marla (Matthew) Hanna, Paula Tolly; and grandson, Jack Quarles. Visitation and the memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank. Visitation begins at 4:30 p.m. EST today, Aug. 29, and is followed by the memorial service at 6:30 p.m. EST. She will be laid to rest in Hope, Mich., alongside her parents. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
