Rick Gilley

Clyde "Rick" Gilley, 62, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2015. He had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He was the owner and operator of High Point Golf Course in Chickamauga for more than 20 years and truly enjoyed playing, singing and listening to Honky Tonk music. He was a loving and devoted father, brother and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Imojean Gilley; sister, Carol Harris; and brother, Timothy Joe Gilley. Survivors include the mother of his children, Brenda Smiley of Red Bank, Tenn.; son, Wayne Gilley of Chickamauga; daughters and son-in-law, Angel Gilley of Flintstone, Ga., Amber (DeWayne) Grider of Chattanooga and Amee Horner of East Ridge, Tenn.; brother, Claude Ronald Gilley of Chickamauga; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Brother Chris Holman officiating. Burial will follow in the Lookout Baptist Church Cemetery in High Point. The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
