Gray Becker

Mrs. Lily Gray Jones Becker, 97, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, in a local healthcare facility. She was born June 29, 1918, to the late Jesse R. and Emma Gray Jones. Mrs. Becker was a 62-year member of Brainerd Presbyterian and was in the Irvine Bible Class. She was retired from G.C. Murphy at Eastgate Mall after many years of service. She also taught several years at Brainerd High Schools Special Education Department. Mrs. Becker was an avid golfer and was a Girl Scout leader for a number of years. She worked with youth groups to produce special programs. Her husband, Marvin L. Becker, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Jessica Ingram of Zephyrhills, Fla.; Linda B. Harris of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Amy Harris, Benjamin Harris, Julie Smith and Dawn Coleman; two great-grandchildren, Tommy Williford and Emily Coleman. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. today, July 7, 2015, in the East Chapel with Rev. Ronald Ragon officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
