Randy Neil

James "Randy" Randolph Neil, 57, went home to be with Jesus surrounded by his family Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015. Randy was born in Oregon City, Ore., lived in Athens, Tenn., and graduated from McMinn County High School in 1975. He received a golf scholarship to Tennessee Wesleyan College where he attended. He moved to the North Georgia area where he resided with his family the last 29 years. Mr. Neil was a member of Covenant Life Worship Center where he taught Sunday school and helped with Prison Ministries. Randy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His pride and joy were his 3 grandbabies. He enjoyed family vacations and loved playing golf. Randy was an avid Tennessee Vols fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Frances Neil; and father-in-law, Ralph Hardin. Survivors are wife, Patricia Neil; sons, Michael (Heather) Kerr, Matthew (Dayna) Kerr; mother-in-law, Dorothy Hardin; brother, John Glenn; sister, Kathy (Randy) Ingram and Patsy (Gregg) Acuff; and grandchildren, Maddie, Hayden and Isaac. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Covenant Life Worship Center with Pastor James Chant officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
