Virgie Buffington

Virgie Mae Buffington, 82, died Wednesday morning, March 25, 2015, at a Chattanooga hospital. She was retired from Barwick Carpet Mills in LaFayette, Ga. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Buffington loved antiques and working in her flower gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hawkins; two sons, Andy and Robert Long. Surviving are daughter, Rita D. (Eddie) Seals, Rogersville, Tenn.; son,Mike (Tammy) Long, Trenton; two sisters, Johnnie Lewis, Summerville, Ga., Gwen Thompson, LaFayette, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; also several great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m.. EDT Friday, March 27, in the chapel with the Rev. Alan Flowers officiating. Interment will be in Long Cemetery Family will receive friends 5 until 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until service time Friday at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton.
