Leonard Green Jr.

Leonard H. Green Jr. peacefully transitioned March 25, 2015, at a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard H. Green Sr. and Catherine Morgan Green; and a loving wife, Selestine Green. He was born in Chattanooga on Feb. 9, 1951. He was a graduate of Howard High School and attended the University of Tennessee of Chattanooga. Leonard was a phenomenal man, devoted husband and outstanding father. He leaves many sweet memories with children, Alan (Athina), Nicole and Cindy. He had a special bond with his grandson, Derek, whom who looked upon merely as a son. In addition to his three children. He is survived by his grandchildren, Josh, Alan Jr., Alandria, James, Alina, Alex and Andrew; two great-grandchildren, Genesis and Christian to cherish his wonderful life. Leonards true passion was family. He was an amazing provider and nurturer. He provided unconditional love and care for his love ones. He touched the lives of whomever had the pleasure of knowing him, whether it was his witty jokes, direct approach or appealing personality. Leonard courageously served the city of Chattanooga Police Department for 29 years. In his time with the force, he has several promotions before his retirement in 2003. Leonard was an active member of Bnai Zion Synagogue and Chattanooga community. Leonard will truly be missed, but never forgotten by a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at the chapel with Rabbi Susan Tendler officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
