Emily Kelle

Emily Kelle, 66, of Hixson, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 2, 2015, following a brave and lengthy 5 1/2 year battle with cancer. Emily taught in the Chattanooga Public Schools and at Chattanooga State Community College. She was a longtime member of St. John United Methodist Church. Emily wass preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Bartley. Emily is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Earl Kelle. She leaves a son, Jeff (Beth) Kelle, daughter, Kristin (Mark) Lazenby; and her cherished grandchildren, Chloe Kelle, Henry Kelle, and Will Lazenby. Emily is also survived by a sister, Maggie (Ken) Badal; brothers-in-law, John (Pam) Kelle, Steve (Marty) Kelle; nephews, Andrew (Diane) Badal and Jack Kelle. In addition to her family members, she leaves behind many longtime loving and wonderful friends who have surrounded the entire family with their love and care. The family would like to thank Dr. Larry Schlabach and his staff at University Oncology, Dr. Ingrid Mayer of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and Mrs. Katy Loyd, RN. (Avalon Hospice) for their excellent and compassionate care. The family will receive friends today, May 6, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and on Thursday, May 7, from 10-11:30 a.m. A Celebration of Emilys Life will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 7, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Gary Grogg officiating.
